ACTS

Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety Act: S.C. 2012, c. 12, ss. 1684-85 are in
force amending s. 4 and subsection 14(1).

Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999: SOR/2012-40 adds items 116-119 to schedule 1.

Energy Supplies Emergency Act: S.C. 2012, c. 12, ss. 1725-1727 are in force amending ss. 3, 4
and 12 and subsections 6(2) and 7(1).

National Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy: S.C. 2012, c. 12, s. 1759 is in force
amending s. 3.

REGULATIONS

Domestic Substances List (Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999): SOR/2012-5 adds 16
substances to Part 1, deletes 1 substance in Part 2, deletes 2 and adds 17 substances in Part 3, and
deletes 1 and adds 1 substance in Part 4.

Metal Mining Effluent Regulations (Fisheries Act): SOR/2012-22 makes amendments to improve
the environmental effects monitoring (EEM) provisions of the MMER. The amendments also include some administrative
changes to improve linguistic consistency and readability of the MMER and to reflect Environment Canada's current
organizational structure.

Pest Control Products Sales Information Reporting Regulations (Pest Control Products Act):
SOR/2012-72 replaces subsection 11(1) regarding audited sales information.

REGULATIONS

Manitoba Building Code (Buildings and Mobile Homes Act): Man. Reg. 14/2012 amends the
regulation to add section 2.1 (Transition: special separation).

NEWFOUNDLAND


REGULATIONS

Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Compressed Gas Regulations (Public Safety Act): N.L.R. 11/12
amends the regulation to repeal section 6.

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES

REGULATIONS

Fire Prevention Regulations (Fire Prevention Act): R-008-2012 amends ss. 2 and 3.1 regarding
reference to the National Fire Code of Canada.

ONTARIO

ACTS

Occupational Health and Safety Act (R.S.O. 1990, c. O.1): S.O. 2011, c. 11 amends the Act by
bringing in to force several sections of the new occupational health and safety scheme. In
addition to other changes, sections 22.5 to 22.9 have been added to allow the Minister to
designate an entity as a safe workplace association, medical clinic or training centre specializing
in occupational health and safety where it meets established standards. Section 50 is amended to
allow inspectors to refer matters to the Board where workers allege their employers violated the
prohibition against reprisals or where other circumstances warrant a referral. Such matters cannot
have been dealt with by binding settlement, arbitration or where the worker is filing his own
complaint with the Board. Workers must consent to any referral.

REGULATIONS

Air Pollution - Local Air Quality (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 507/09 is now fully in
force. References to the approved ISCPRIME dispersion mode have been repealed. Other
amendments have been made as a result of this change.

Building Code (Building Code Act, 1992: O. Reg. 503/09 is now fully in force. Changes related
to occupancy permits for houses have come into force.

Municipal Hazardous or Special Waste (Waste Diversion Act, 2002): O. Reg. 11/12 amends the
regulation by adding sections 5 (Quarterly Fees) and 6 (Revocation of rule).

Transitional Matters - Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, 2006 (Places to Grow Act,
2005): O. Reg. 8/12 amends s. 2.1, 3.1 and adds ss. 5.1 - 5.6 (Growth Plan for the Greater Golden
Horseshoe - Simcoe Sub-Area).

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND


REGULATIONS

Home Heat Tanks Regulations (Environmental Protection Act): EC2012-66 amends the section 4
to discontinue home heat tank inspectors licenses. Other sections have been amended as a result
of this removal. Several sections throughout have been amended to reflect the removal of
Schedules B and C and replace certain requirements with those in the Home Heat Tank Systems
Technical Standards Handbook, as well as other standards, such as CSA standard B-139. Section
16 has been amended to use the defined term 'double-bottom tank'. Section 14 (Identification
tag require) has been repealed and replaced. Sections 14.1 - 14.4 have been added to the
regulation.

Act respecting industrial accidents and occupational diseases: S.Q. 2011, c. 18, ss. 84-86 are in
force amending ss. 429.10, 429.12 and adding s. 429.12.1.

Act respecting off-highway vehicles: S.Q. 2011, c. 18, s. 291 is in force amending s. 49.3.

Act respecting the boundaries of the waters in the domain of the State and the protection of
wetlands along part of the Richelieu River: S.Q. 2011, c. 18, s. 308 is in force amending s. 28.

Environment Quality Act: S.Q. 2011, c. 18, ss. 269-271 are in force amending ss. 31, 46.16 and
46.17.

Forest Act: S.Q. 2011, c. 18, ss. 150-152 are in force amending ss. 73.5, 92.0.2 and 92.0.11.

Act respecting the MinistŠre du D‚veloppement durable, de l'Environnement et des Parcs: S.Q.
2011, c. 18 amends ss. 15.3 and 15.4 and repeals ss. 15.5-15.11.

Highway Safety Code: S.Q. 2010, c. 34, ss. 28, 35(paragraph 2) and s. 102 are in force amending
ss. 202.2, 209.2.1 and 191.2 respectively. S.Q. 2011, c. 18, ss. 114-116 are in force amending s.
648 and 648.4 and repealing s. 648.1.

SASKATCHEWAN

REGULATIONS

Treaty Land Entitlement Withdrawal Regulations (Wildlife Habitat Protection Act): Sask. Reg.
17/2012 adds item 92 to the appendix.

Canadian Human Rights Act: S.C. 2012, c. 1 is in force amending ss. 2, 3 (English) and s. 25 and
aligning the two language versions.

ALBERTA

ACTS

Personal Information Protection Act: S.A. 2011, c. C-11.5, s. 31 is in force adding 4(3)(g)(vi)
"the Child and Youth Advocate".

REGULATIONS

Employment Standards Regulation (Employment Standards Code): Alta. Reg. 31/2012 makes
technical minor amendments to the regulation.

Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Regulation (Freedom of Information and
Protection of Privacy Act): Alta. Reg. 31/2012 makes technical minor amendments to the
regulation.

MANITOBA

ACTS

Employment Standards Code: S.M. 2011, c. 13 amends subsection 14(3), adds subsections 14(6)
and (7) regarding the posting of work schedules and changes to posted hours, and adds section
14.1 regarding individual flextime arrangements. Subsections 25(2), 62(1), and ss. 77, 135 and
144 are also amended.

Construction Industry Minimum Wage Regulation (Construction Industry Wages Act): Man.
Reg. 15/2012 amends the regulation to update the construction industry minimum wage.
Schedules A and B have been repealed and replaced.

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES


REGULATIONS

Employment Standards Reciprocating Jurisdictions Order (Employment Standards Act): R-007-
2012 repeals ss. 3 and 4 and amends the schedule regarding Ontario, Saskatchewan and the
Yukon.

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

REGULATIONS

Minimum Wage Order (Employment Standards Act): EC2011-68 amends section 1 to raise the
minimum wage to $10.00.

QUEBEC

ACTS

Act respecting labour standards: S.Q. 2011, c. 18, s. 260 is in force amending s. 141.1.

Labour Code: S.Q. 2011, c. 18, s.s. 117-119 are in force amending s. 137.59, 137.62 and 137.63.
