ACTS
Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999: SOR/2011-212 adds Item 120 to the list of toxic
substances in Schedule 1 of the Act.
REGULATIONS
Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (Canada Labour Code - Part II): SOR/2011-
206 replaces subsection 2.9(3) specifying that three-point contact must be maintained while using
a fixed ladder. Sections 2.20 and 2.24 regarding air quality are also amended to recognize that
some employers may not have control over the building or HVAC systems.
Domestic Substances List (Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999): SOR/2011-199 adds
8 substances to Part 1, amends 1 substance in Part 2, deletes 1 and adds 8 substances in Part 3,
and adds 1 substances to Part 4.
Metal Mining Effluent Regulations (Fisheries Act): SOR/2011-202 adds item 19 (Mallard Lake,
Saskatchewan) to Schedule 2.
Navigation Safety Regulations (Canada Shipping Act): SOR/2011-203 repeals sections 9 and 73,
and item 16 of Schedule 1 pertaining to voyage data recorders.
Tetrachloroethylene (Use in Dry Cleaning and Reporting Requirements) Regulations (Canadian
Environmental Protection Act, 1999): SOR/2011-216 makes amendments to align the English
and French versions of the regulation and to improve clarity and enhance ease of reporting.
Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act,
1992): SOR/2011-210 adds sections 7.10 to 7.13 regarding compensation for the implementation
of Emergency Response Assistance Plans.

Calgary Restricted Development Area Regulations (Government Organization Act): Alta. Reg.
191/2011 amends Schedule A.
Commercial Vehicle Certificate and Insurance Regulation (Traffic Safety Act): Alta. Reg.
199/2011 extends the expiry date of this regulation to May 31, 2014.
BRITISH COLUMBIA
REGULATIONS
Commercial Transport Regulations (Commercial Transport Act): B.C. Reg. 156/2011 makes
minor amendments to section 7.07.
MANITOBA
ACTS
Highway Traffic Act: S.M. 2011, c. 27 replaces section 155 and adds section 155.1 pertaining to
accident reporting requirements.
ONTARIO
ACTS
Environmental Protection Act: S.O. 2010, c. 16, Sch. 7 is not mostly in force. The Act has been
amended to reflect the new environmental compliance approval process within Ontario.
Ontario Water Resources Act: S.O. 2010, c. 16, Sch. 7 is not mostly in force. The Act has been
amended to reflect the new environmental compliance approval process within Ontario.
Safe Water Drinking Act, 2002: S.O. 2010, c. Sch. 7 amends the Act by repealing and replacing
section 125 (Costs may be recovered from deposit or financial assurance).

Air Pollution - Local Air Quality (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 264/11 amends the
regulation to comply with changes to the environmental compliance process in Ontario.
Boilers (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 271/11 amends section 3 of the regulation to
comply with changes to the environmental compliance process in Ontario.
Certificate of Approval Exemptions - Air regulation (Environmental Protection Act): This
regulation is now called the Environmental Compliance Approvals - Exemptions from Section 9
of the Act. O. Reg. 256/11 also amends the regulation to comply with changes to the
environmental compliance process.
Classification and Exemption of Spills and Reporting of Discharges (Environmental Protection
Act): O. Reg. 253/11 amends the regulation to repeal and replace subsection 1(1) dealing with
Class I spills in light of the changes to Ontario's environmental compliance process.
Classification of Proposals for Instruments (Environmental Bill of Rights): O. Reg. 261/11
amends the regulation to comply with changes to the environmental compliance process. Section
4.2 (Class I proposals Transition) has been added to the regulation and section 9 (Class III
proposals -- Ontario Water Resources Act) has been repealed and replaced.
Effluent Monitoring and Effluent Limits - Electric Power Generation Sector (Environmental

General (Clean Water Act): O. Reg. 267/11 amends the regulation to amend the approvals
process to comply within Ontario's updated environmental compliance process.
General (Nutrient Management Act): O. Reg. 266/11 amends the regulation to amend the

General - Waste Management (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 234/11 amends the
regulation to comply with changes to the environmental compliance process.
Hot Mix Asphalt Facilities (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 270/11 amends the
regulation to repeal and replace section 6 which outlining the need to keep copies of
environmental compliance approvals. Section 7 has been added to deal with relocation of a
portable Hot Mix Asphalt Facility.
Landfilling Sites (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 268/11 amends the regulation to
comply with changes to the environmental compliance process.
Records of Site Condition - Part XV.1 of the Act (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg.

Recovery of Gasoline Vapour in Bulk Transfers (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 257/11
amends the regulation to comply with changes to the environmental compliance process.
Spill Prevention and Contingency Plans (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 260/11 amends
the regulation to comply with changes to the environmental compliance process.
Sulphur Content of Fuels Regulation (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 263/11 amends

Act respecting the MinistŠre du D‚veloppement durable d l'Environnement et des Parcs: S.Q.
2011, c. 20 replaces section 14 regarding identification of authorized persons and amends section
15.4 to reference the newly implemented penalties imposed under the Environment Quality Act.
Environment Quality Act: S.Q. 2011, c. 20 aims to reinforce compliance with the Act by
introducing administrative sanctions, increasing existing penal sanctions and by making the
directors and officers of corporations, partnerships and associations more accountable for
violations.
REGULATIONS
Regulation respecting mandatory reporting of certain emissions of contaminants into the
atmosphere (Environment Quality Act): S.Q. 2011, c. 20 amends section 8 by replacing the
portion before paragraph 1.
