KMC Mining was established in 1949 as a contract road builder in southern Saskatchewan and Alberta. Due to growth, KMC Mining is seeking a highly organized individual for the role of Safety Manager in Fort McMurray, AB.
This role will allow you the flexibility to design your working life based on where you reside. You have the option of commuter rotation in/out of Fort McMurray with 10 days on and 4 days off. OR you can reside in Fort McMurray and work 5 days on and 2 days off.
Your aim will be to provide daily administration of the safety program. You will be responsible for hazard assessments, work site safety inspections, investigations, safety meeting agendas, and developing safe work standards. You will be facilitating on-site safety training for workers as well.
Although equivalencies will be considered, ideally you have relevant post secondary diploma or degree in science/business management/ engineering. At least 5 years of experience as a safety advisor in an industrial setting is essential, as is a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
Strong writing skills including proficiency writing reports is required, and you must be skilled at using computers including the MS Office Suite. You are a safety oriented individual who adheres to deadlines and leads by example. You are a strong relationship builder and communicator who can easily lead, manage, and mentor a team of safety advisors and trainers.
KMC Mining offers competitive industry salary of 110K to 140K depending on experience plus comprehensive benefits package while working in a close knit, supportive team environment. For your hard work and dedication, you will also receive:
