Environmental, Health and Safety Supervisor
We have a need for a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills and extensive Safety and Training experience to fill this position in our Calgary plant. Reporting directly to the EH&S Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that our goals and objectives are met.
Responsibilities:
Administer and provide leadership for the development and implementation of our comprehensive Environmental, Health, Safety and Security programs
Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety Provincial and Federal regulations
Ensure safe work areas and processes by inspecting, investigation and directing procedures associated with maintenance, operations and contracted work
Conduct Job Safety Analysis reviews
Direct and actively participate in ongoing, proactive employee education
Develop and conduct monthly Supervisor safety meetings
Work closely with management, supervisors and Human Resources to develop and implement health and safety programs
Qualifications:
OH&S professional designation, secondary education in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
Three to four years of supervisory, safety program development and administration experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
Thorough knowledge of OH&S, OHSA, Provincial and Federal regulations as well as working knowledge of WCB rules and regulations
Team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Related safety certifications including first aid, CPR, forklift, confined space, fall arrest, WHMIS and TDG would be an asset
Outstanding communication and listening skills
Ability to work effectively in a unionized environment
