Job Title: Manager Safety Engineering
Location: Calgary
Job Type: Permanent
Responsibilities:
· Coordinate with engineering disciplines
· Inherent safe design study
· HAZOP - Hazard and operability study
· HAZID - Hazard identification study
· QRA - Quantitative risk assessment product release - fire and/or explosion, dispersion modeling etc.
· FRA - Fire risk assessment
· Escape evacuation & rescue analysis
· Dropped objects study
· Emergency systems survivability analysis
· Explosion overpressure analysis
· Hazardous area classification drawings
· Human factors analysis
· Fault tree analysis
· Event tree analysis
· Safety integrity level determination
· Layer of Protection Analysis
· Identify requirement for active or passive fire protection
· Identify requirement for fire and gas detection
· Identify requirement for toxic gas detection
· Safety design report
· Safeguarding manuals
· Manage and mentor junior engineers
Qualifications:
· Degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
· 15- 20+ years of experience in oil and gas EPC environment
· 10+ years in a Health and Safety Engineering role.
· Understanding of working in a multi disciplined environment.
· Excellent communication both written and verbal
· Ability to work independently and resolve practical problems.
· Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
· Engineering Degree in Chemical or Mechanical
· APEGGA registration or eligibility required
· Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous experience in a project engineering environment or other heavy industrial industry is preferred
