Does anyone have good resources/information/a document they'd be willing to share for my perusal for this subject? I would really appreciate any insight you could offer!

Check out Enform's website http://www.enform.ca/1011 They have done a lot of work in this area. The link includes a policy model and there has been review by lawyers and medical specialists as part of the process.

I have a couple of pdf documents:
Canadian Human Rights Commission Policy on Alcohol and Drug Testing
and
Policy on Alcohol and Drug Testing: Ontario Human Rights Commission.
Send me an email and I'll send them to you. I haven't figured out how to post them here yet.

Hi Amanda,
Welcome and thanks for your post.
Here are the instructions on how you (and anyone else) can attach a PDF or image file to your message:
1. Click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread. Or, if you're starting a new thread, click on the 'New Thread' button in the relevant topic's forum.
2. On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labeled 'Manage Attachments'. Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments. You can upload an attachment either from your computer or from another URL by using the appropriate box on this page.
Alternatively you can click the Attachment Icon (a Paper clip image above the message box) to open this page.
3. To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file. To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page. Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'.
4. Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window. You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
Hope that helps! More info is available in the FAQs (http://www.workscape.ca/faq.php?faq=vb3_reading_posting#faq_vb3_attachment s).

Hi Amanda,
There is a way to message internally on Workscape. Members can send private messages to each other:
Private messaging works a little like email, but are limited to members of Workscape.
You may send a private message to a member of this forum by clicking on their username, and then "Send a Private Message" from the drop down menu that appears.
So, if I wanted to send you a private message, I would go one of your posts, click on your name, and then select the Private Message option. Once you send the Private Message, it goes directly to you, Amanda -- it does not get posted publicly here on Workscape.
Alternately, you can click the 'Send A Private Message (http://www.workscape.ca/private.php?do=newpm)' link in the private messaging section of your user control panel (more info (http://www.workscape.ca/faq.php?faq=vb3_user_profile#faq_vb3_user_cp)).
When you send a message, you have the option to save a copy of it in your 'Sent Items' folder.
For more info on managing your Private Messages, please visit our FAQs (http://www.workscape.ca/faq.php?faq=vb3_user_profile#faq_vb3_private_messa ges).
Amanda - I have sent you a PM so you can see how it looks like! :)
Here's the Canadian model

Please note that the Enform document is based on more recent court decisions and was published in September, 2007. It contains an independent legal opinion and an independent medical opinion and is endorsed by the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry.

I wanted to ask where the Enform document is but I found it...false alarm!
