Is there a due date to "close/end" HS-Canada Discussion Group?

Hello!!

The reason why I am asking this is becuase I think this board is the best ever for H&S discussion!!! and can't wait for all the listers to sign up and start using this tool instead of those emails that clutter my inbox and are so difficult to read (I subscribed to de digest version).

Please do not read my message in a wrong way. The information shared is EXCELLENT and valuable but the format is a lot better when using this board.

Hello - thanks for your positive feedback.

We think Workscape is an improvement on listserv technology, so we plan to phase out HS-Canada over the course of 6-9 months time. (We'll provide ample notice once we have determined an actual end date.) In the meantime we hope that people will find Workscape enjoyable and easy to use.

I agree totally! Workscape sure is convenient. Off the top of my head, here are 10 reasons why:


Whenever you post, an email gets sent to you right away, notifying you if anyone replies.
If you haven't visited in a day or two, you can click on New Posts to see what's been posted.
You choose to read only the topics/subject areas that are of interest to you.
You can subscribe to topic areas that interest you, and get a daily email summarizing the new threads that have been started in that area.
You can send private messages to other members, without exposing your email address, or having to know theirs.
No more "out of office", "me too", and misdirected messages.
You can check Workscape from anywhere in the world, so long as you have access to a web browser.
You can opt to subscribe to an RSS feed, and get all new threads sent to you, in your RSS feed client.
You can attach images and files to enhance or clarify your message.
You can edit your messages.

Oh, and to answer the question posed in the title of the thread, yes a date has now been set to end the HS-Canada listserv: March 31, 2009.

Archives of HS-Canada messages will still be available from our website at: http://www.ccohs.ca/hscanada/hscanada.html, as well as any contributed documents.
