SAFETY CONSULTANT
We are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our Employee Health, Safety and Attendance Support team. Reporting to the Director of Employee Health, Safety and Attendance Support, the Safety Consultant is accountable for the application of safety theory; practices and principles to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region’s employees. The Safety Consultant also coordinates the administrative function of the organization’s Safety Management System. These functions are carried out in the context of the mission, vision, values and strategic themes of the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region.
The successful candidate will have a recognized degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety. A diploma or degree in Nursing or Education is an asset. Experience of at least two years in a health care setting is preferred. To qualify, the candidate must be proficient in all areas of occupational health and safety theory, principles of safety and behavior/cultural based safety management systems. They must have excellent decision-making skills, communications skills, be self motivated and experienced in working with collective agreements. As well, you are required to have working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office and experience with customized databases. A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate must hold a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
