Hazardous Products Act: SOR/2010-53 adds item 16 regarding polycarbonate baby bottles
containing bisphenol A to schedule 1.
Species at Risk Act: SOR/2010-32 adds 18 species to Schedule 1 and reclassifies 3 additional
species. SOR/2010-33 adds 4 aquatic species to Schedule 1.
REGULATIONS
Controlled Products Regulations (Hazardous Products Act): SOR/2010-38 replaces subsection
12(11), subsection 33(2) regarding MSDS's and the manner of establishing classification, and
section 64 regarding biohazardous infectious material.
Domestic Substances List (Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999): SOR/2009-309 adds
9 substances to Part 1, 1 substance to Part 2 and 17 substances to Part 3. SOR/2009-310 adds 4
substances to Part 1, removes 1 substance from Part 5, and adds 1 substance to Part 5.
SOR/2009-337 removes several substances from Part 1. SOR/2010-14 adds 15 substances to Part
1, amends column 2 of Part 2 of the English version opposite the substance 15365-14-7 N-S,
removes 1 substance from Part 3, adds 11 substances to Part 3 and amends column 2 of Part 4
opposite substance 17953-7 N-S. SOR/2010-49 deletes 1 substance from Part 1 and adds 5
substances to Part 1, adds 1 substance to Part 2, adds 6 substances to Part 3 and amends column 2
of Part 6 opposite KB-1 Anaerobic Dechlorinating Consortium containing Dehalococcoides
spp. N-S. SOR/2010-66 deletes 5 substances from Part 1 and adds 5 substances to Part 2.
Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (Motor Vehicle Safety Act): SOR/2009-318 makes minor
amendments to clarify and correct various existing regulations. It also introduces a new means of
calculating the designated seating capacity to include the space designed for use by a person in a
wheelchair. SOR/2009-330 also makes several minor amendments, including extending the
application of ss. 108, 114 and 122 beyond their current expiry dates to allow time for upcoming
amendments.
National Energy Board Cost Recovery Regulations (National Energy Board Act): SOR/2009-307
is in force making several amendments requiring that the recoverable costs currently assigned to
electricity exporters be transferred to the power line companies that transport electricity
internationally and inter-provincially.
PCB Regulations (Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999): SOR/2010-57 amends the
regulations to provide more flexibility to industry by allowing on-site destruction in accordance
with provincial and territorial legislation without compromising the safety and environmental
protection provided by the regulations. The clarity and consistency of the text is also improved.
ALBERTA
ACTS
Public Lands Act: 2009, c. A-26.8, s. 91 is now in force making several amendments to align the
Public Lands Act with the Alberta Land Stewardship Act.
Traffic Safety Act: 2009, c. 35 amends subsections 58(3) and (5) regarding the suspension of an
operator's licence.
REGULATIONS
Public Railway Regulation (Railway Act): Alta. Reg. 338/2009 amends the title of the regulation
and adds section 1.1 regarding application.
BRITISH COLUMBIA
REGULATIONS
Administrative Review and Appeal Procedure Regulation (Forest and Range Practices Act): B.C.
Reg. 4/2010 amends the minister reference in s. 20.
Carbon Neutral Government Regulation (Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets Act): B.C. Reg.
55/2010 adds the definition of "Treasury Board" in s. 1 and amends s. 7.
Carbon Tax Regulation (Carbon Tax Act): B.C. Reg. 4/2010 amends the Schedule by referencing
the Ministry of Finance.
Commercial Transport Regulations (Commercial Transport Act): B.C. Reg. 206/2009 repeals
paragraph 6.02(2)(b.1) and subsection 6.04(3).
Environmental Data Quality Assurance Regulation (Environmental Management Act): B.C. Reg.

Municipal Sewage Regulation (Environmental Management Act): B.C. Reg. 4/2010 amends the
definition of "known" and paragraphs 25(1)(a) and (b).
Passenger Transportation Regulation (Passenger Transportation Act): B.C. Reg. 33/2010 adds
clauses 9(1)(c)(iii) and (iv).
Power Engineers, boiler, Pressure Vessel and Refrigeration Safety Regulation (Safety Standards
Act): B.C. Reg. 46/2010 adds a definition for "professional engineer", amends s. 6 stating that a
certificate of qualification is not required to operate a specified low pressure thermal plant. S. 65
regarding requirements for a certificate of qualification as a safety officer is replaced, ss. 74 and
79 are amended and s. 84.1 regarding the registration of control systems is added.
Reviewable Projects Regulation (Environmental Assessment Act): B.C. Reg. 4/2010 amends
Table 11 regarding solid waste management projects by referencing the Environmental
Management Act.
Water Regulation (Water Act): B.C. Reg. 4/2010 amends the ministry references in ss. 36, 39
and 40(1)(a).

Food Establishment Safety Regulations (Public Health Act): Ss. 8-10 are now in force.
NOVA SCOTIA
REGULATIONS
Commercial Carrier Safety Fitness Rating and Compliance Regulations (Motor Vehicle Act):
N.S. Reg. 5/2010 replaces the list of "Weights and Dimensions of Vehicles Regulations
offences" in Appendix A.
N.S. Reg. 48/2010 makes corrections to the amendments made by N.S. Reg. 5/2010.
Occupational Health and Safety Appeal Panel Regulations (Occupational Health and Safety Act):
N.S. Reg. 38/2010 adds a definitions for "administrative penalty appeal" replacing s. 3 regarding
submitting a notice of appeal, and adding s. 3A regarding information required for a notice of
appeal and s. 4B regarding the application of sections 5 to 10. Subsections 1 and 2 of s. 11
regarding pre-hearing preparation are repealed.
Weights and Dimensions of Vehicles Regulations (Motor Vehicle Act): N.S. Reg. 4/2010 makes
several amendments removing the sunset provision on several grandfathered configurations
(model year 2002 and earlier). In addition, long wheelbase tractors, wide spread tridem pony
trailers, wide spread tandem steer trucks, quad axle semi trailers, and stinger steer/high mount
auto carriers have been approved for use in Nova Scotia without permit. N.S. Reg. 47/2010
corrects amendments made by N.S. Reg. 4/2010.
ONTARIO
REGULATIONS
Air Pollution - Local Air Quality (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 507/09 repeals Section
18 and Schedule 1 regarding standards with half hour averaging times. Further amendments are
made to reflect those changes.
Building Code (Building Code Act): O. Reg. 503/09 makes several administrative, technical and
editorial changes to the Building Code. O. Reg. 205/08 is now in force making amendments that
require fire sprinklers in multiple-unit residential buildings over three storeys in height.
Designation and Classification of Provincial Parks (Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves
Act, 2006): O. Reg. 65/10 amends Table 1 by striking out "Ipperwash Provincial Park".
General - Waste Management (Environmental Protection Act): O. Reg. 336/09 amends the
definition of "anaerobic digestion" and replaces paragraph 3(2)21. regarding anaerobic digestion
output is replaced. O. Reg. 337/09 adds and amends several definitions and various other
legislative references. Further amendments are made to update and clarify the existing
requirements regarding field operations.
Outdoor Fires (Forest Fires Prevention Act): O. Reg. 64/10 replaces all occurences of the phrase
"forest or woodland" with "forest area".
Species at Risk in Ontario List (Endangered Species Act, 2007): O. Reg. 72/10 replaces
Schedules 2 to 4.
PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
REGULATIONS
Contaminated Sites Registry Regulations (Environmental Protection Act): EC130/10 corrects a
typographical error in subclause 2(a)(ii).
Natural Areas Protection Act Regulations (Natural Areas Protection Act): EC137/10 gives
conservation officers appointed under the Wildlife Conservation Act the power to enforce the
Natural Areas Protection Act and Regulations.
QUEBEC
ACTS
Building Act: S.Q. 2009, c. 57, some sections are now in force amending ss. 58, 60, 61, 65.1,
65.4 and adding s. 196.1 regarding fines.
Conservation and Development of Wildlife Act: R.S.Q. 2009, c. 49 is in force making several amendments including the provision of additional powers to the Minister with respect to feeding and baiting, the disposal of pests, and the establishment of fish-stocking plans. Some regulatory powers are transferred from the government to the Minister.
REGULATIONS
Building Code (Building Act): O.C. 939-2009 amends ss. 1.01, 1.06, 1.09, 3.01, 3.04 - 3.06 and
5.01 with regards to referencing of standards.
Petroleum, Natural Gas and Underground Reservoirs Regulation (Mining Act): O.C. 1381-2009
changes the title of the regulation from "Petroleum, Natural Gas, Brine and Underground
Reservoirs Regulation. Several other amendments are made.
Regulation respecting accident reports (Highway Safety Code): O.C. 120-2010 replaces s. 1 and
Schedule 1, amends s. 2 and repeals Schedule 2.
Regulation respecting threatened or vulnerable plant species and their habitats (Act Respecting
Threatened or Vulnerable Species): O.C. 104-2010 amends ss. 2 and 3.
YUKON
ACTS
Motor Vehicles Act: S.Y. 2009, c. 17 replaces the definition of "traffic control device", replaces
paragraph 126(2)(p) and adds subsections 126(4)-(5) regarding municipal traffic regulations.
Public Health and Safety Act: S.Y. 2009, c. 18 replaces ss. 1 and 18 regarding definitions and
delegation respectively. Sections 2.1-2.3, 4.1-4.7, 18.1, 18.2 and 21.1-22.3 are added. Several
other minor technical changes are made. These amendments allow ministers and the chief
medical office of health to indirectly collect personal information for the purposes of the act.
