My name is Richard Murphy.
I am currently a student of Occupational Health and Safety attending Red River College in Winnipeg Manitoba. I will graduate in a few months, with exemplary grades.
My priority is to find employment with a Company that is a good fit. My prior work history has been in the construction sector. I have owned my own business doing Asphalt and Concrete for many years. This is a seasonal business, so I have been working winters in Alberta for the last seven years.
I have had the “good fortune” of procuring employment with the same Company each winter, having gained practical experience working for their Pipeline Division, and Management experience working for their Civil Mining and Infrastructure Division. My personal preference is to stay within the construction sector, where I will be of the most benefit.
I have good interpersonal skills, learn quickly, and enjoy mentoring and training.
I would like to start my career working for a larger organization that has an established OH&S program, as the opportunity to work with seasoned professionals is an invaluable asset.
I would consider working for any Company in the process of developing an OH&S program in a junior position.
My wife is a Document Control Coordinator for a well known Oil Producer and lives in Fort McMurray. Ideally I would like to finish my schooling and join her.
I would consider taking a camp position that offers shift work. It does not matter where or which Province, if it is in a reasonable driving distance, or the option of flight subsidy is presented.
