PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE



- March 2008 – May 2009: Industrial Hygiene and Health-Safety Specialist at Teknika-Hba, a pioneer in engineering and large-scale projects consulting firm, Montreal, Canada.
Conducted industrial hygiene surveys at industrial facilities for a wide variety of chemical and physical agents. Extensive experience in indoor/outdoor air quality. Prepared and calibrated equipment used to collect and analyse samples. Collected samples of dust, gases, vapours, and other potentially toxic materials for analysis. Conducted noise exposure evaluations. Measured lead and asbestos levels. Initiated first contact with the client about their concerns and prepared budget proposal. Prepared reports including observations, analysis of contaminants, and recommendations for control and correction of hazards.

- October 2006 - October 2007: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Consultant for DDH Environnement, an EHS consulting firm, Montreal, Canada.
Experience with aircraft manufacturing (Pratt&Whitney-unionized work environment), EHS risk analysis (identification, rating, and proposal of solutions), EHS audits (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), enclosed spaces, work at heights, personal protective equipment), verification of conformity to environmental regulations and groundwater sampling.

- September 2004 : Internship for a course in natural sciences of environment, Venice, Italy.
Studied the ecotone between the main land and the Adriatic sea. Laboratory work such as separation and determination of benthos fauna from the Venice lagoon. Study of the seashore currents and their impact on the lagoon’s dynamic.

- September 2003 : Internship for a course in natural sciences of environment, Danube Delta, Romania.
Studied watershed, river and coastal zone management of the Danube river basin of Romania. Included sea expeditions, laboratory work, analyses and discussion of results.
