Purpose and Scope
In support of the Ontario Realty Corporation account, this role requires you to provide advice, technical assistance and expertise to: managers, supervisors, workers, clients, contractors, and Joint Health and Safety Committees. In addition, you will conduct/coordinate hazard assessments, and provide health and safety advice, training, and interpretation to ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety legislation and ISO 14001.

Duties and Activities
Ensure that regulations and client procedures are in compliance.
Oversee daily operations for sites across the region.
Act as a resource to CBRE employees and clients.
Ensure quality customer service by reviewing documentation and making site visits (e.g., perform audits).
Perform needs assessments and root cause investigations.
Coordinate HSSE programs including (e.g., accident/injury prevention, chemical management program, contractor safety…).
Identify opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing services.
Think resourcefully to interpret complex documents.
Motivate others to complete projects on time.
Provide HSSE training (e.g., WHMIS, TDG, client specific programs...).
Professionally deal with government officials.
Assists in the completion/creation of Fire Safety/Emergency Plans.
Create/maintain and also provide training for Safety Task Assignments.
Manage safety work permit programs (e.g., hot work, confined space, roof access...).
Business continuity planning.
ISO 14001 implementation and internal auditing.
Implement sustainability initiatives such as LEED and BOMA BEst certifications and daylight cleaning.
Others duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Post secondary education in Environment, or Health & Safety (e.g., a degree or diploma).
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience designing and implementing HSSE programs.
Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)® designation preferred.
Preference will also be given to individuals with experience in project management.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, provincial and local regulations.
A proven track record of success.
Be willing to travel throughout the region on an as needed basis.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational, time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
Competence with Microsoft Office.
Experience maintaining an ISO 14001 program would be an asset.
