Location: Retail Support Centre, Edmonton, AB

We are growing and require an Occupational Health and Safety Manager to join our team!

Reporting to the Director of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), you will be responsible for tracking OH&S incidents across the Western Region. You will be responsible for analyzing, interpreting and reporting OH&S data/statistics on performance within the region as well as tracking regional audit results.

You will conduct regional OH&S inspections, liaise with regional HR Managers, consultants and contractors, and support the regional Managers in OH&S auditing/inspecting, training, injury investigations, projects and legislative requirements.

As a team leader, you will provide support to the Claims Management Specialist on WCB, Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability claims, and supply OH&S information and supplies to regional location while keeping the Director, OH&S informed of compliance or policy issues.

As the ideal candidate, you have excellent organization and communication skills. Your ability to work independently and on a team will ensure success in this role. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a developmental level.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:


OHS Certificate, CRSP designation or equivalent (or actively pursuing designation)
Experience in Occupational Health and Safety would be considered a valuable asset
Experience working in a large organization with multiple retail and warehouse operations is an asset
Demonstrated ability to discreetly handle confidential information
Ability to work independently as well as with a multidisciplinary group
Ability to manage a variety of consultants/contractors
Computer-related experience including data entry, word processing, presentations, and spreadsheet use
Strong organizational skills, as well as being oriented to accuracy and detail
Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a developmental level
