Working Together and Exchanging Best Practices
A company may have the best Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Management System in place, but when an employee gets seriously injured or a major spill occurs, it can come down to the fact, that the company cannot demonstrate its due diligence. There were previous EHS infractions that the company knew of, and they failed to discipline the workplace parties involved.
Come and learn about the best practices of disciplining employees for EHS infractions.
Graham Walsh, an associate in the Advocacy Department of Gowlings' Toronto office, practices in the areas of employment and labour law with a focus on occupational health and safety and workers’ compensation matters. Graham will be the guest speaker for the October 23rd 2009 meeting. He will discuss the best practices of disciplining employees for EHS infractions; group discussion is to follow.
