Job Title: Safety Manager
Location: Saskatoon, SK
Position Summary:
The Safety Manager ensures site compliance with Government Regulations and company safety standards, coordinates and maintains Site / Transport Emergency Response, Process Safety Management and Security Plans.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and ensure site compliance with government regulations and company safety standards
* Evaluate, monitor, develop and implement site Safety Improvement Strategies and Plans
* Coordinate, maintain and test the On / Off-site Emergency Response Plans and Transportation Emergency Response Plans (including relationship with Transport Canada and Toronto Logistics)
* Responsible for site Security and Process Safety Management
* Represent the Saskatoon plant on the Company Safety Committee and the Occupational Health and Safety Committee
Education & Experience:
* Holds a current registration as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional
* Minimum 10 years of experience in Safety Management (ideally in the chemical or other industrial workplace) and related experience in Industrial / Transportation Emergency Response, Security and PSM
* Certification in Health and / or Safety disciplines (i.e. Canadian Registered Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist) is an asset
* Solid knowledge and functional experience of current regulatory requirements in Occupational Health and Safety
Skills/Competencies:
* Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, persuasiveness
* Good organizational skills
* Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
* Self-starter, demonstrates initiative
* Able to maintain technical knowledge
