POSITION TITLE:
OHS Corporate Director
LOCATION:
Kingsey Falls, Quebec
OUR CLIENT:
Cascades Inc., a North American leader in the production, the transformation and the marketing of packaging products, tissue paper and fine papers, composed mainly of recycled fibres. Cascades employs more than 14,000 employees who work in more than 100 production units located in North America and in Europe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the VPHR, the Corporate Director will make recommendations for the entire operations (North America and Europe), with regards to company standards relative to prevention, financing of the various plans (OHS, WSIB, WC) and files management, in consultation with the people responsible for OHS in each group.
The action plans that enable achievement of the standards simultaneously take into account the:
- health and safety of employees;
- efficiency of operations;
- operating costs;
and they include planned interventions with the Environment Department, from a sustainable development perspective.
Every quarter, the Director reports the results of the company to the Board of Directors.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- University degree;
- The candidate must have 15 years or more of experience in OHS management, which will have given him/her a good understanding of how to apply OHSA standards, an expertise in industrial hygiene, an understanding of the applicable legal framework as well as funding regimes;
- Will be recognized by his/her peers for his/her ability to induce his/her collaborators to reach common objectives and by his/her superiors for his/her ability to influence management;
- The candidate must be bilingual (French, English), both spoken and written;
- Frequent travel (mainly in North America).
