I thought I should introduce myself now that I am signed up on Workscape. I've been working in the environmental consulting industry for 9 years now and took on the safety coordinator role when I switched companies 2.5 years ago. I really enjoy the safety work as I think it is very important. However, I find it extremely frustrating, particularly in the consulting world where it's all about chargeability and safety simply isn't chargeable (although I don't agree with that statement).
I'm hoping to take a CRSP prep course this year in the hopes that I can do my exam in the next year or so. I have finally convinced my boss that this is the most recognizable designation for me as a safety professional in Canada so I believe I finally have support there.
I am also a Certified Engineering Technologist due to my environmental engineering technology background and keep my skills somewhat up-to-date by completing borehole logs in gINT.
