Hi

I'm trying to learn more about the "System Safety" approach

What resources and references do you recommend reading?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers,
Sarah Webster

Sarah, if I understand your question correctly, you should definitely be looking to some of the national or international OHS management system standards:

OHSAS 18001 & 18002
CSA Z1000

In my view, this is the most effective approach to managing safety and the easiest sell to senior management.

Sarah,
I highly recommend that you go to the following website and get this FREE book. It's a long read but contains some great information on which to base your approach to system safety.

Hi Adam and Tom

Thank you for your recommendations so far. I am familiar with the OHSMS standards

I believe I should clarify what I'm looking for. ie the research behind the OHSMS standards (system safety) and where the research is at, today.

Cheers,
Sarah Webster

PS I'm going to be doing alot of research over the next week for a masters essay on the topic, so I'll add what I find.
