February 28th is RSI Awareness Day. In keeping with the spirit of the day, CCOHS featured an article on how to avoid the mouse trap - and use a mouse as safely as possible.

If you are sitting at a desktop computer, chances are you also use a mouse. This little device that revolutionized the way we use computers may seem small and harmless, but it can cause painful musculoskeletal disorders. Read the tips on how to reduce mouse pain (http://www.ccohs.ca/newsletters/hsreport/issues/2009/02/ezine.html#inthenews)in the February issue of the Health & Safety Report (http://www.ccohs.ca/newsletters/hsreport/subscribe.html) e-newsletter.

I enjoyed the article and am familiar with the posting on CCOHS website...a valuable tool to promote to employers/employees.

It would also be important to identify the shift in mouse interface as well from a device that is used with elbow pronation versus a system like the Evoluent mouse that promotes more neutral elbow/wrist postures. This system can be found at http://www.evoluent.ca/

I've had great success with outcome measures after recommending this product....unfortunately it's usually AFTER someone has had CTS surgery or significant symptoms. Any one else have good success with this product?
