Workplace Health, Safety & Wellness Conference
September 14– 15, 2009- Kelowna, British Columbia
The BC Healthcare Collaborative Group is proud to host our second Workplace Health, Safety and Wellness Conference in Kelowna, BC on September 14-15 2009.
The Call for Contributions is now open. Deadline for abstract submission is FEBRUARY 22, 2009.

This year’s theme is “From Knowledge to Action: Solutions that Work.” There are many realities facing healthcare workers and employers today – an aging workforce, workload concerns, work/home life balance, diminishing human resources, increased sickness due to mental health concerns as well as rising work related injuries causally related to patient handling, aggressive behaviour and communicable diseases.
This conference will emphasize the following themes within healthcare: Workplace Safety, Health Workplace Initiatives, Disability Management, Ergonomics, Safe Patient Handling, Occupational Hygiene, Workplace Violence and Aggression, Workplace Mental Health and Addiction, Occupational Exposure to Infectious Diseases. The program will include a series of papers, workshops and posters.
Our goal is to showcase research or practice interventions resulting from an integrated and participative approach to health and safety problems in the workplace that are showing sustainable results. Intended outcomes include sharing of information which focuses on the contribution of health, safety and wellness of workers engaged in providing quality patient care.
We extend a warm welcome to you and your colleagues to share in this exciting conference. We are now accepting abstracts in all areas of our conference themes and we invite you to view our website for further information.
