We're new at this, we admit. We'd like Workscape to be active, informative, and ultimately useful to improve the health and safety and your workplace.
We notice that many have joined (thank you), but not many have posted. :disapointed:
What can we do to help? We're listening. Consider this an open thread for suggestions and feedback. Our feelings won't be hurt. If it will help increase the quality and usefulness of Workscape, then hey we're all ears.
If you prefer, you can also send a private message by clicking on my user name (admin).

Krista, to get more use you need to shut down the HS Mail-List. Most of us are old dogs who don't/won't learn new tricks. We are used to getting e-mails and are not as likely to go to Workscape to see what's cooking in the OHS kitchen.
Is it possible to send an alert by email when a new thread is posted. Just for a month or 2 when the Mail-List is shut down. Would to train us to go to Workscape for our OHS fix.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your honesty, and as a dog lover, I appreciate the old dog analogy! It was our intention to not keep both going, and there will be a message soon to the HS-Canada list about this - look for it this week.
Is it possible to send an alert by email when a new thread is posted. Just for a month or 2 when the Mail-List is shut down. Would to train us to go to Workscape for our OHS fix. There are ways to subscribe to threads in Workscape. I've detailed them here:
http://workscape.ca/showthread.php?t=32
While you can't subscribe to be notified of new threads as they are started, you can subscribe to subforums (like Ergonomics or General Health and Safety), and get a daily summary of new threads within that subforum sent to you via e-mail.
Plus, you can subscribe to any existing thread, to be notified instantly via e-mail when there's a new reply.
And whenever you do visit Workscape, you can click on the New Posts button in the top green strip to quickly view recently created or updated threads. It will give you the following:
- If you are not logged in, the 'today's posts' link will show a list of all threads that have been created or updated in the last 24 hours.
- If you are logged in, the 'Today's Posts' link will change to 'New Posts', which gives you a listing of all threads that have been created or updated since your last visit.
I hope that provides you with some tips on how to make Workscape more useful and convenient.
Now let me ask you, what do you think about my sending a message to the HS-Canada list when there's a new thread in Workscape? Do you think that may encourage some cross-visiting and posting?
Thanks, Krista

Hi Krista,
Is there still a way to access the archives from the old HS-Canada list? They could oft prove to provide a wealth of info/insight. I can't find the link anymore on CCOHS's splash page...
Thanks,
DuAma

Hi DuAma,
Yes, you can still access the archives. They're available at:

Maybe a regional section could be usefull. Like provincially, USA, world sections. This could be a place where members in the same regions could post and share regional stories, ideas, suggestions and advice.
Just my $.02
