Good afternoon all. Our JHSC (Ontario) is currently reviewing its terms of reference , and have asked what about other workplaces?
So...we are a hospital in Ontario. If anyone would like to send on their terms of reference, it would be appreciated. Terms of reference from hospitals would be doubly appreciated. Our committee has kind of stagnated, so this is the first step in revitalization.

Steve Sloan

Thanks for starting this thread, Steve (and welcome to Workscape by the way).
I can't help with terms of references (sorry), but if any other Workscaper can & would like to post them here (which of course is encouraged, since it can thereby help others), they can do so by clicking the green "Post Reply" button and clicking the Paperclip icon above the message box to attach them. More info is available here (http://workscape.ca/showthread.php?t=104).
Or if preferred, you can choose to send them directly to Steve. Just click on his user name "ssloan" and elect to send a private message or an email message to get in touch. Both will work.
Thanks. With your help we can make this community grow and thrive!

Google "JHSC terms of reference" and there are universities that have theirs public. I would suggest using them as a guide to create your own.

Alberta does not have mandatory JWHSC. However, I attach the two bulletins published by Alberta WHS.
Have a safe week,

Information on JHSC can be found on the IAPA (iapa.ca) web site as well as on this site (ccohs.ca). As was mentioned previously university's and college's generally make their processes available to the public and are a great resource. One other site is the Ontario Safety Association Community Healthcare (osach.ca). I have found items of reference in the past on this site.
Hope this is of some assistance
You also mention that your current committee has become stagnate. Not uncommon, how many of us actually have full membership? and of those members who really "volunteered"?
It would be great to hear from others with JHSC. What is working, what is not?
