Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999: SOR/2011-286 and 2011-287 amend schedule 1
by adding items 80-82 and 115.
REGULATIONS
Domestic Substances List (Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999): SOR/2011-271
deletes 1 and adds 5 substances to Part 1, adds 1 substance in Part 2, adds 17 substances in Part
3, and adds 1 substance to Part 4. SOR/2011-272 adds 1 substance in Part 1. SOR/2011-293
deletes 4 substances in Part 1 and adds 4 substances in Part 2. SOR/2011-329 adds 5 substances
in Part 1 and deletes 1 substance and adds 14 in Part 3.
Environmental Emergency Regulations (Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999):
SOR/2011-294 makes several major amendments including the revision of Schedule 1 to include
41 additional substances, exceptions to the calculation of quantities for certain solids, anhydrous
ammonia and ammonia solution, and propane, provisions for closed or decommissioned facilities
and revisions to the reporting requirements of the Regulations. The Implementation Guidelines
for the Environmental Emergency Regulations 2011 are also linked to in the document.
Fish Health Protection Regulations (Fisheries Act): SOR/2011-300 replaces the definition of
"wild fish", replaces subsection 3(1), section 4, and amends section 5.
Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (Motor Vehicle Safety Act): SOR/2011-238 amends the expiry
date for 14 sections of Schedule IV to Jan. 31, 2016 for all sections. The sections amended are:
ss. 105-106, 116 - 118 and 123-135 of Part II of Schedule IV, s. 209 of Part III of Schedule IV
and ss. 302-500 of Part IV of Schedule IV.
Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (Motor Vehicle Safety Act): SOR/2011-263 replaces the
definitions for various types of motorcycles, adds section 5.3 regarding maximum speed for
motorcycles and replaces section 122 of Schedule IV regarding Motorcycle Brake Systems (TSD
122).
Off-Road Compression-Ignition Engine Emission Regulations (Canadian Environmental
Protection Act, 1999): SOR/2011-261 adds section 25.1 regarding temporary standards.
Packaging and Transport of Nuclear Substances (Nuclear Safety and Control Act):
SOR/2011/283 adds paragraphs (k) and (l) to subsection 2(2).
PCB Regulations (Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999): SOR/2011-301 makes several
minor amendments in order to correct discrepancies.
Solvent Degreasing Regulations (Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999): SOR/2011-301
makes several minor amendments in order to correct discrepancies.
ALBERTA
REGULATIONS
Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations (Oil and Gas Conservation Act): Alta. Reg. 203/2011
amends the regulation to repeal and replace the definition for "common ownership" and add a
definition for Directive 065. References to Directive 065 have been added throughout the
regulation. In addition to several changes throughout the regulation, sections s 5.005, 15.010 -
5.0140, 15.060 - 15.200 and 15.220 have been repealed. Figures in schedule 14 have been
amended.
BRITISH COLUMBIA
ACTS
Agricultural Commission Act: S.B.C. 2011, c. 27 amends the Act to add sections 30.1 (Chief
executive officer may refuse applications), 33.1 (Reconsideration of decisions of panel) and 34.1
(Information and fees respecting terms). Changes to section 1 allows the designation as officials
of those not employed under the Public Service Act. Amendments to section 12 removes the
requirement that the commission submit a service plan to the minister.
Forest Act: S.B.C. 2011, c. 20 is partly in force to amend section 47.1 and provide the minister
with the discretion to add or remove private lands from a woodlot licence area. Amendments to
47.3 makes changes intended by the Greenhouse Gas Reduction (Emissions Standards) Statutes
Amendment Act, 2008 that were rendered inoperative.
Industrial Roads Act: S.B.C. 2011, c. 25 amends the Act to update and modernize the language
involving spousal rights.
Protected Areas of British Columbia Act: S.B.C. 2011, c. 27 repeals the description of Stawamus
Chief Park from Schedule C and adds a description for it to Schedule D.
Wildlife Act: S.B.C. 2011, c. 27 amends the Act to repeal and replace section 33.1, making it an
offence to feed or attract dangerous wildlife or to leave an attractant for dangerous wildlife.
Workers' Compensation Act: S.B.C. 2011, c. 25 amends the Act to update and modernize the
language involving spousal rights.
NEW BRUNSWICK
REGULATIONS
Fire Extinguisher Servicing Regulation (Fire Prevention Act): N.B. Reg. 2011-66 amends section
2 by referencing more recent versions of cited codes.
Fire Prevention and Inspection Regulation (Fire Prevention Act): N.B. Reg. 2011-64 amends
section 2 by referencing more recent versions of cited codes and standards.
General Regulation (Electrical Installation and Inspection Act): N.B. Reg. 2011-67 makes a
minor amendment to section 2.
Safety Code for Elevating Devices and Amusement Devices (Elevators and Lifts Act): N.B. Reg.
2011-69 amends sections 2 and 155.31 by referencing more recent versions of cited codes and
standards.
Smoke Alarms and Smoke Detectors Regulation (Fire Prevention Act): N.B. Reg. 2011-65
amends section 2 by referencing more recent versions of cited codes and standards.
Standards Regulation (Boiler and Pressure Vessel Act): N.B. Reg. 2011-68 amends Schedules A
and B by referencing more recent versions of cited standards.
NORTHWEST TERRITORIES
ACTS
Territorial Parks Act: S.N.W.T. 2011, c. 32 makes several amendments allowing individuals that
have been charged with, or committed certain offences to be prohibited from entering Territorial
Parks.

Workers' Compensation General Regulations (Workers' Compensation Act): R-099-2011
amends rates in sections 4 and 6.
NUNAVUT
ACTS
Workers' Compensation Act: S.Nu. 2011, c. 25 replaces the definition of "spouse" in s. 1 and
adds the definition for "surviving spouse". Section 7 is repealed.

amends rates in sections 4 and 6.
QUEBEC
ACTS
Act respecting medical laboratories, organ and tissue conservation, and the disposal of human
bodies: S.Q. 2011, c. 27, s. 1 is in force adding a second paragraph to s. 37 regarding the duration
and renewal of permits for medical imaging laboratories.
Act respecting occupational health and safety: S.Q. 2009, c. 19, s. 21 enacting s. 237.1 is in force
regarding fines in ss. 236-237 and how they are revalorized each year.
Sustainable Development Act: S.Q. 2011, c. 31, s. 18 is in force amending s. 3 regarding which
bodies are not considered administration for the purposes of the Act. .
Tobacco Act: S.Q. 2011, c. 27, subsection 38(2) is in force changing the wording of subsection
2(7.1) from "residence for the elderly" to "private seniors' residence".
REGULATIONS
Regulation respecting the application of section 32 of the Environment Quality Act
(Environment Quality Act): O.C. 1033-2011 adds sections 5.1, 5.2 and 9.1 - 9.4, as well as
making several other amendments pertaining to temporary industrial camps.
Regulation respecting the declaration of water withdrawals (Environment Quality Act): O.C.
685-2011, subsection 5(2) is in force removing the third paragraph of s. 5.
SASKATCHEWAN
ACTS
Regional Health Services Act: S.S. 2007, c. 36 adds section 33.1 regarding written agreements
with non-designated health care organizations, repeals sections 34 to 37 and adds Division 2
regarding written agreements with designated health care organizations.
REGULATIONS
Treaty Land Entitlement Withdrawal Regulations (Wildlife Habitat Protection Act): Sask. Reg.
70-2011 adds item 91 to the appendix.
EMPLOYMENT LEGISLATION
CANADA
ACTS
Privacy Act: SOR/2011-259 adds the Communications Security Establishment to the list of Other
Government Institutions in the schedule.
BRITISH COLUMBIA
ACTS
Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act: S.B.C. 2011, c. 17 amends the Act as a
result of May 2010 Report of the Special Committee of the Legislature to review FIPPA .
Amendments include the expansion of excluded records types. The Act is amended to require
ministries to establish categories of records for proactive disclosure, and privacy obligations.
The amendments promote data-sharing between organizations for the purpose of delivering
common programs or activities. The Act also clarifies existing provisions, provides some
consistency with the Personal Information Protection Act. B.C. 191/2011 amends the regulation
to update Schedule 2 with the accurate Ministry names.
Workers' Compensation Act: S.B.C. 2011, c. 25 amends the Act to update and modernize the
language involving spousal rights.
